Ultimate Ears metro.fi 2 earphones

High-end earphone manufacturers Ultimate Ears have taken a leaf out of Grado’s book by releasing their first set of low-end earphones, the Ultimate Ears metro.fi 2.

These in-ear noise-isolating earphones will sell for around $80 making them the cheapest earphones in Ultimate Ears’ range. As is usual for in-ear ‘phones they will come with a variety earpieces to fit the majority of ear sizes.

If Ultimate Ears can replicate the sound quality of their top level earphones then these could prove to be a real bargain.

Etymotic ety8 earphones

There have been some pretty ugly headphones released lately, but it looks like Etymotic could trump them all with the design of their new ety8 Wireless headphones.

Looking like a cross between a 1970 games console controller and the thing Uhura sticks in her ear, the ety8 certainly wont win any design competitions - which is a shame since the Bluetooth earphones will probably sound great.

At the moment these headphones are currently with the FCC for approval so it’s possible the final design might (hopefully) be different.

If you often run out of power while listening to the radio then the solar-power WIN32 radio headphones could be the thing for you.

The radio is FM only and one hour of sun light should be enough for one to three hours of listening.

Ugly, but interesting.
