High-end earphone manufacturers Ultimate Ears have taken a leaf out of Grado’s book by releasing their first set of low-end earphones, the Ultimate Ears metro.fi 2.
These in-ear noise-isolating earphones will sell for around $80 making them the cheapest earphones in Ultimate Ears’ range. As is usual for in-ear ‘phones they will come with a variety earpieces to fit the majority of ear sizes.
If Ultimate Ears can replicate the sound quality of their top level earphones then these could prove to be a real bargain.

Just heard these today at a trade show in Dallas. Pretty sharp sounding set of cans for $80 msrp. I would imagine street price will be a little less, but not a lot. Market will support this at 80 imho.

I think Ultimate Ears have got the price right for these, the only thing they lack is the brand recognition to really make these huge sellers.
