Just a few days after showing my surprise at the positive reviews for the budget Targus Travel-Ease Active Noise Cancellation headphones, CNET have stepped in and dropped a pretty average review for the headphones.

With a rating of 6.5 out of 10, CNET seem to feel that most of the features of the Targus headphones match it’s $70 price tag with sound being rated as Ok but not spectacular. The build quality and choice of materials also seem to match their cost although the noise-canceling is well received.

CrunchGear have a review of AKG’s high-end K 701 headphones and I have to say, it makes me want a pair!

The review is completely complimentary with even the case being singled out for praise but it’s the sound that really gets credit. Now, where can I find a spare $450…

Anyone interested in winning a pair of Sennheiser PX100 headphones might want to check the competition over at Headphonedeals right now.

It’s a fairly simple competition to enter, all you have to do is suggest a pair of headphones for Matthew to review. My choice? The Targus Travel-Ease noise canceling headphones simply because I struggle to believe the positive reviews this seemingly cheap pair of headphones have received.

Mobility Today have put up a short review of the Bose QuietComfort 3 headphones and, as with previous reviews, it’s very positive.

As with nearly every other review, it’s the noise-cancelation of these headphones that gets the most praise, although the reviewer also loves the sound. The battery life, design and comfort of these headphones are also commended in a review that is almost entirely positive.

Arriva iPod Shuffle Headphones

On first seeing Arriva’s new headphone design I had one of those “I can’t believe no-one thought of this before” moments. The idea of strapping an iPod Shuffle straight to your headphones seems obvious but I don’t think I’ve seen it done before. I assume if these prototypes ever see release they’ll be similar in construction to the previous Arriva Active Wear headphones.

Of course, there are potential problems with the design, not least the fact it makes it possible to relieve someone of both their iPod and headphones in one fell swoop.
