New York Times writer David Pogue has an interesting round-up of 9 noise-canceling headphones. The article compares headphones like the JVC HA-NC100, the Logitech Noise Canceling Headphones and the Sennheiser PXC 450 against the market leading Quiet Comfort 2 and Quiet Comfort 3 from Bose.

As expected, Pogue has the Bose models as his favorite but does rate the Panasonic RP-HC500 and Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7 as being right up there. It’s an interesting read and shows that you can get almost match the Bose Quiet Comforts and for a lot less money.

Logitech FreePulse wireless headphones

MP3.com have the third review I’ve seen of the Logitech FreePulse headphones and, once again, they get top marks.

As with the CNET review, it’s the design rather than sound of these headphones that get all of the credit. MP3.com rate them as comfortable and light although, contrary to CNET, they love the basic controls.

Logitech FreePulse wireless headphones

CNET have a review of the Logitech FreePulse Bluetooth headphones and although not as positive as the last review I reported they still come out pretty well.

The 7.3 awarded by CNET is actually a very good review by their strict standards and it’s really the design of the FreePulse headphones that won CNET over rather than the sound quality, which they only rate as decent. However, one thing the review notes as missing from the headphones is the ability to control your player, a feature found on most other Bluetooth headphones.

If you are considering buying these Bluetooth headphones, something worth noting is the CNET readers reviews with more than one user commenting on their discomfort with the headphones. Personally, I’d try them on before I buy them, if possible.

Logitech FreePulse wireless headphones

Those clever fellows over at The Register have awarded the Logitech FreePulse Wireless Headphones a top-notch 95% in their recent review.

The review is positive about almost all aspects of the headphones with the sound quality and design coming in for extra praise. If Bluetooth headphones are your thing, then judging by this review, the FreePulse are just about the best you can get.

Logitech Noise Canceling Headphones

MP3.com have a review of the snappily named Logitech Noise Canceling Headphones and believe we could finally have competition for the Bose Quiet Comfort headphones.

It’s inevitable that every set of noise canceling headphones are compared to the excellent Bose cans and they usually come up short. Although the review isn’t 100% positive (I’m concerned about their description of the sound quality and noise cancelation) at about half the price of the Bose headphones (the Logitech ‘phones retail at $150 compared to the Bose’s $350) they seem like a good alternative.

Logitech FreePulse wireless headphones

Logitech have announced the latest addition to their headphone range, the FreePulse Wireless headphones.

These headphones are Logitech’s second generation of wireless headphones and utilize a high-carbon spring-steel behind the ear headband to improve stability. This lightweight material has allowed Logitech to reduce the weight of the headphones to a measly 2.1 ounces.

The headphones use Bluetooth to allow wire free sound and come with a dongle which connects to a standard 3.5 mm headphone port.

Logitech promise around six hours of listening from one charge of the embedded headphones which will be available in October priced at around $100.

Logitech Noise Canceling Headphones

iLounge have a first look at Logitech’s new noise canceling headphones, the snappily named Logitech Noise Canceling Headphones. I hope someone in marketing got a promotion for thinking up that name…

These noise canceling headphones use a similar technique to the Bose QuietComfort 3 phones to attempt to cancel out ambient noise although the effectiveness of this technique is debatable.

The Logitech cans come with all of the features you expect for a decent set of headphones including an adjustable headband, airplane adaptor and a pretty snazzy case.

These headphones will be available soon priced $150.
