I first mentioned the Anycom BSH-100 way back in September last year, and I’ve finally found a review of it, courtesy of MobilitySite. It’s quite a positive review, with the headset being rated as a 4 out of 5.

The main plus points noted are the sound quality and ease of pairing. For much more details, check out the full review.

Etymotic ety.8 Bluetooth Headphones

CrunchGear have posed a detailed hands on of the Etymotic ety.8 Bluetooth earphones and the verdict is the same as previous reviews - good earphones but hella ugly.

The sound quality is noted as a positive in the review, with the caveat that this quality can sometimes expose limitations in the Bluetooth signal bandwidth. In addition, the comfort and ease of use also come in for praise.

Shame they’re so completely hideous.

GEAR4 BluPhone Bluetooth Headphones

Yup, it’s another set of Bluetooth headphones. How exciting. The GEAR4 BluPhone headphones do slightly distinguish themselves by looking quite good and by being nice and compact.

Weighing in at a neck relieving 26g, they match their low weight with a low cost, only £50.

As is the standard, they support the Bluetooth A2DP protocol allowing stereo connections to most modern mobile phones and digital audio players. They even have a built in mic to allow handsfree mobile phone use. How nice.

Plantronics Pulsar 590A Bluetooth headphones

Shiny Shiny reviewed the Plantronics Pulsar Bluetooth Headphones way back in July and were quite impressed with them and now TreoCentral have reiterated that opinion in a recent review.

Awarding the headphones 4 out of 5, TreoCentral praise the sound and comfort of these ‘phones but do have some reservations over the design. For much more details, check out the full review.

Southwing SA505 Headphones

I have to admit, Southwing is a headphone manufacturer I’m unaware of but Mobile Choice’s review of their SA505 Bluetooth headphones show they have some promise.

Awarding the headphones 7.5 out of 10, the reviewer was fairly impressed by the sound quality but did find it occasionally muddy. They also had some doubts over the build quality of the headphones but that’s probably to be expected for a pair of Bluetooth headphones that can be picked up for less than $100.

New Apple Bluetooth Headset

Going almost unnoticed amongst all of the iPhone excitement, Apple have also announced an updated set of iPod earphones plus a new Bluetooth headset.

First up is a refresh to the now classic earphones that come bundled with iPods. The new models will feature a small in-cable box (in white, obviously) with a microphone and squeeze switch for use with the new iPhone cellular capabilities.

Secondly, the announcement of an amazingly small looiking Bluetooth headset, again for use with the iPhone. Details on it’s capabilities are sketchy at the moment with the only real info being that it will have a single button for controlling phone functions. No matter what the spec, it’s size (assuming the pictured model doesn’t have an enormous head) is sure to gain it a lot of attention.

Bluetrek ST1 Bluetooth headphones

Another year, another new set of Bluetooth headphones, this time from Bluetooth specialists Bluetrek.

The (unintentionally?) stethoscope-styled headphones incorporate Bluetooth 1.2 support with Bluetrek claiming 9 hours of continuous use on one charge plus an impressive 400 hours standy-by time. The bendable headset also includes play/pause, track direction, and volume controls directly on the headset for controlling your music player.

No word on release date or price yet but you’ll be able to see them at this years CES in Las Vegas.

Just in time for Christmas, Creative have added to their headphones range with the release of the Creative SE2300 Wireless Headphones.

The clip-on Bluetooth headphones support both A2DP and AVRCP profiles allowing you full control over any compatible devices (audio players or cellphones) directly from the earpiece. If you don’t already have a Bluetooth-enabled device then the SE2300 come bundled with a Bluetooth adaptor that connects into any standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

Offering a not too impressive 8 hours of battery life, these ‘phones can be charged via the supplied AC or USB power adapter.

Available now priced at around $99.

Etymotic ety.8 Bluetooth Headphones

CNET have become the latest to review the Etymotic ety.8 Bluetooth earphones and have awarded them an excellent 8 out of 10.

Praising them for their excellent sound quality and noise-isolation, CNET certainly rate these headphones. However, in common with earlier reviews, CNET have problems with the looks of these distinctive headphones. It’s a shame that it keeps coming down the cosmetic nature of the ‘phones but considering these earbuds are most likely to be worn in public, it’s certainly a complaint I can appreciate.

Etymotic ety.8 Bluetooth Headphones

The guys over at iLounge.com have been quick to review the newly released Etymotic ety.8 headphones and it doesn’t seem things are up to Etymotic’s usual high standards.

Awarding the headphones a B rating, iLounge are impressed by the overall sound quality of these in-ear ‘phones but do note a problem with audible pops in bass-heavy songs.

However, the reviewer does praise Etymotic for being the first to introduce true wireless earbuds and managing to make them comfortable at same time. As is to be expected, the reviewer does have issues with the looks of the ety.8 - here’s hoping Etymotic can make them a little less ugly next time.
