Monster’s iFreePlay Wireless Headphones For iPod Shuffle

Here’s another variation on iPod Shuffle-headphones hybrid design, the Monster’s iFreePlay.

Designed to accept 2G iPod Shuffle’s only, the iFreePlay gives you wireless music without the need for Bluetooth or any other technology. They do look a bit clunky, but are probably around the most attractive of the similar headset’s I’ve seen.

Assuming they fit snugly, then these could be an ideal choice for joggers, but remember to watch out for traffic.

Available now for $49.95.

Novac iWalk Headphones

Although far from being an original design, there’s something a bit charming about the clunky retro stylings of the Novac LP-IP002 iWalk headphones.

Designed to hold a 2nd generation iPod Nano in the most visible way possible the iWalk is available for around $80.

V-Moda Red Roxx earphone

If you were interested in the highly-rated V-Moda Vibe earphones but found the standard colors a bit dull then you’ll love the new red and mocha colors.

The Red Roxx version has obviously been styled on the (PRODUCT) RED range designed to help fight AIDS in Africa and will perfectly match the (RED) iPod.

The Mocha version is, to put it bluntly, brown.

New Apple Bluetooth Headset

Going almost unnoticed amongst all of the iPhone excitement, Apple have also announced an updated set of iPod earphones plus a new Bluetooth headset.

First up is a refresh to the now classic earphones that come bundled with iPods. The new models will feature a small in-cable box (in white, obviously) with a microphone and squeeze switch for use with the new iPhone cellular capabilities.

Secondly, the announcement of an amazingly small looiking Bluetooth headset, again for use with the iPhone. Details on it’s capabilities are sketchy at the moment with the only real info being that it will have a single button for controlling phone functions. No matter what the spec, it’s size (assuming the pictured model doesn’t have an enormous head) is sure to gain it a lot of attention.

Sci-Fi Tech have a list of their top 10 ways to listen to an iPod which is an interesting read. Most of the choices are as to be expected with the Sony MDR-NC11 and the Shure i4c making an appearance.

However, their last choice, the AKG K240 Studio is a bit of a strange one. It’s not that often you see people wearing full size studio ‘phones with their iPods but obviously it’s something they go for at Sci-Fi Tech.

DIY iPod Shuffle Headphones

It’s been a while since I last reported on a pair of DIY headphones but I though this design from Adam Zhang was too good to miss.

It’s actually a fairly simple design with the iPod Shuffle attached directly to the headband of a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-F55’s. Despite it’s simplicity, the Shuffle almost looks like it belongs on the headphones.

Apart from the duct tape, of course!

Sick of being mugged for your iPod? Well fear no more for a young inventor has created a set of invisible headphones for your favorite music device.

Well, nearly.

What you’ll actually get is a small, wireless, bone-conducting speaker that you place under your hat. Making the system practically invisible to would-be thieves. Apart from the hat.

I await the forthcoming trend of hat-related muggings…
